Kyle Scott was a member of the Salamanca High School graduating Class of 2001 and was the embodiment of what it means to be a Salamanca Warrior and wear the red and gray colors. As a true scholar-athlete his work ethic and dedication to being the best brought him respect from his teachers, coaches, piers, family, and friends.

As a standout member of the 2000 Warrior football team, Kyle was selected as the MVP of the Far West Regionals which was the farthest that Salamanca had ever advanced in the state football playoff system. Kyle capped his football career by being selected to the Big 30 All-Star team, All WNY Athletic Team, All-State 3rd Team, All WNY 3rd team, WNY Divisional Defensive Player of the Year, and received the Salamanca Warrior Whistleman Award. Kyle was also selected as the Salamanca High School Athlete of the Year, Salamanca Boy of the Year, inducted into the National Honor Society, and graduated 6th overall in his class. Kyle took his love and passion for football to the next level as a member of the University at Buffalo Division I football team.

It is because of his impact on the people around him, his dedication and love of the game of football, and his tireless drive, desire and commitment to always play his best from whistle to whistle that the Salamanca Warrior Whistleman award is dedicated to the name, honor, and memory of Kyle Scott.
